Editing metafields across thousands of products without losing a write

The Admin GraphQL API is limited by query cost, not request count. Send a bulk job faster than the shop’s bucket refills and Shopify starts rejecting batches — and a client that treats a rejection as a failure leaves those products holding their old values while the job reports success.

This app is that admin interface, in Polaris. The demo runs the same interface against a simulated shop that enforces the real cost bucket, so the difference between handling the limit and ignoring it is something to watch rather than take on trust.

The values it writes are read back by a Shopify Function: volume pricing tiers stored on a product metafield, applied at checkout. Both sides go through the same parser, because the reader has nowhere to report a value it cannot understand — a Function that fails simply applies no discount.
